Rig 142

A Highly Mobile Drilling Rig Capable of Working Efficiently in Extreme Arctic Conditions

Rig 142

Like most new drilling rigs commissioned for work in the oil and gas industry, Rig 142 contains state of the art equipment that is highlighted by a fully automated driller’s cabin and modern AC technology.

It is a fully integrated, multiple module rig that can drill on various well spacing’s of 10 feet to 30 feet. The rig layout consists of five individual modules, resulting in lightweight components that can be efficiently moved from pad-to-pad while maintaining heat in each module.

The substructure module consists of the mast, rig floor with equipment, BOP stack, choke manifold and moving system, which cantilevered, combined loads 400K setback, 750K Rotary Drilling Module Ground level to Rig floor is 39 feet.

The pipe shed complex houses the pipe skate and scissor lift to handle pipe. The pipe shed can hold 680,000 lbs of pipe during drilling operations. Level 3 of the pipe shed contains meeting, office spaces and a training room for use by the rig crew.

The mud pit module uses an innovative hopper style pit design that holds 1,120 barrels of mud tankage. This module also contains centrifugal pumps, a manual valve system, and solids control equipment.

The mud pump module contains two NOV 12P-160 triplex mud pumps, 2-125 HP boilers, closed-loop heat exchanger, and parts storage.

The engine module consists of three Caterpillar 3512C Gensets, and 1 C27, coupled to Kato generators, air compressors, highline transformer, and external radiators.

Rig 142’s Drill Support Modules are trailer-mounted, and use oilfield trucks for moving. This configuration minimizes module weights and allows for faster moving speeds over long distances. Each module has a towable wheel suspension system for short distance for well-to-well moves.

The mast is a cantilever hook load design with a capacity of 750,000lbs, with a twelve-line hookup, and the substructure is capable of a combined load of 400,000 lbs. setback and 700,000lbs rotary capacity.
